The 2024 Beijing International Sustainability Conference was held in Beijing on November 21, 2024. The theme of the conference is 'Convergence and Innovation for Development: Path to Global Baseline', with over 200 experts from the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), China's Ministry of Finance, and other well-known domestic and international organizations attending in person. For the first time, CCB participated as a supporting organization at the Beijing International Sustainability Conference, showcasing its professional capabilities and leadership in the global field of sustainable development to audiences around the world. CCB representative was invited to participate in the fireside chat titled 'Scope 3 Disclosures - Chain Leaders Empowering Value Chains', introducing how the bank has deeply integrated the concept of sustainable development into strategic planning, business operations, and risk management, fully leveraging the role of commercial banks as financiers in value chains to assist society’s green and low-carbon transition. CCB representative pointed out that ISSB standards have the characteristic of being based on financial materiality as their fundamental logical framework, which holds positive significance for commercial banks in managing and making disclosures on sustainability-related risks and opportunities, receiving high recognition from participating delegates and stakeholders.
