CCB’s Great Leap Forward on FORTUNE 500

FORTUNE magazine announced the FORTUNE 500 on 10 July and CCB made an impressive jump of 59 places in the rank, to No 171 from No 230 in the same period of last year. CCB’s hike is the highest among other mainland corporations. This year, over 29 mainland and Hong Kong corporations are on the list, including 25 from mainland and four from Hong Kong, adding five more compared to last year. Sinopec has sustained to be on the No 16, with US$159.26 billion and it is the highest ranking among other mainland corporations. Among the mainland banking corporations, apart from CCB that is ranked at No 171 in the global listing and No 7 on the mainland and HK’s list, ICB has also jumped from No 170 to No 137. ICB has also been upgraded to No 4 in the mainland and HK list. Bank of China has been upgraded from No 215 to No 187 while Agricultural Industrial Bank has jumped from No 277 to No 223. Bank of China and Agricultural Industrial Bank have sustained No 8 and No 9 respectively on the mainland and HK’s listing.
