CCB Launches China’s Top Premium Credit Card

December 12 saw the debut in Beijing of the Diamond Card, China’s most prestigious credit card painstakingly created by CCB.  Boasting six top advantages including the highest credit limit, the highest air travel insurance, the most comprehensive airport VIP service, the highest number of social golf outings, the highest reward points and the best-value supplementary card services, the Diamond Card sets a record in privileges for domestic credit cards and is drawing the keen attention of the market.

The Diamond Card was unveiled by CCB chairman Zhang Jianguo in the launching ceremony.  The first batch of privileged cardholders included Meng Niu Dairy chairman and CEO Niu Gensheng, Focus Media (China) Holding Limited CEO Jiang Nanchun, Sun Media Group chairman Yang Lan, famous baritone Liao Changyong, well-known violinist Lu Siqing, national first class ballerina Fan Xiaofeng and renowned professional golfer Zhang Lianwei.

The Diamond Card is a premium credit card created by the consolidation of an array of resources both from within and without CCB and is targeted at the community of elite personal clients.  It features seven main privileges which are customised to the lifestyle and status characteristics of these high-end clients.  These include financial management, business travel services, golfing, insurance protection, international and domestic emergency assistance, “platinum secretary” and double reward points.  Diamond cardholders are pampered with the most exclusive privileges in China.  They are granted a credit limit of up to five million yuan and an ultra-high insurance portfolio of up to 20 million yuan; they can enjoy VIP services at more than 530 airports domestically and internationally and participate free-of-charge in up to 28 social golf outings a year; supplementary cardholders can enjoy the same best-value services and privileges as main-card holders.  In addition, the Diamond Card is enriched with such personalised privileges as VIP financial management services, special interest discounts for personal loans, super-value discounts from numerous international airlines, automobile emergency assistance, world-wide medical assistance, international travel assistance, VISA Platinum Secretary services.  In other words, cardholders can enjoy unsurpassed services in financial management, business travels or leisure activities.

On the same day, CCB launched another credit card targeted also at premium customers: the Platinum Card.

For these two important products, CCB has also installed a 24-hour VIP service hotline in which dedicated VIP service officers will provide Diamond Card or Platinum Card holders will efficient and quality exclusive services.

CCB’s Diamond Card and Platinum Card will be targeted towards senior management personnel in large to medium size enterprises as well as to celebrities and CCB’s high-end and affluent clients.  The cards will be offered on an invitational or referral basis.

Since its formal issuing of the Dragon Dual Currency credit card in August 2003, CCB has been earnestly striving to meet the needs of its customers and has redoubled its efforts in innovating products and services.  Subsequently, there have been substantial increases in market impact, product competitiveness, customer satisfaction and risk control capability.  A number of speciality products such as the Dragon Prestigious School Card, the Dragon Famous City Card, the Dragon Renowned Enterprise Card, the Dragon Automobile Card and the Dragon Yao Ming Card have since been successively launched to the delight of the markets.  This have led to a doubling of CCB card business from year to year and the receiving of a number of international and domestic honours such as the “Best Dual Currency Credit Card Issuing Award” and the “Best Private Label Card Award”, etc.

The launching of the Diamond Card and the Platinum Card not only complements CCB’s credit card portfolio and strengthen its premium client retaining capabilities, but also expand the way CCB provides it high-income, high-consumption, high contribution premium clients with valuable financial products and services.  In fact, it is a significant milestone towards CCB’s becoming a “first class international retail bank”.
