CCB Iplemented OA System throughout the Bank and Laid a Solid Foundation for Becoming a Modern Commercial Bank

On Jan. 27, an employee working in the president office of CCB Zhoushan Branch in Zhejiang province skillfully sent an E-mail to CCB Shengsi Branch. Just after 30 seconds, CCB Shengsi Branch received this mail. Then, Shengsi Branch sent this E-mail to CCB Dayangshan Operating Office. The whole process was finished just within 3 minutes. You know the distant from Zhoushan city to Shengsi county is over 80 sea miles, and the distance from Shengsi county to Dayangshan is more than 20 sea miles. In the past, CCB could only use post to send documents and messages to branches. A letter from a branch at city level to a branch at county level needed at least one week, and from a branch at county level to an operating office needed 3 to 4 days. But now just within 3 minutes, this process can be accomplished. This shows the effectiveness and efficiency of OA (office automation) system that was established in the last November throughout the whole bank. The OA system help CCB realize office automation without paper documents not only in head office, but also in all branches. CCB headquarters has connected with all 38 branches at province and autonomous region level via OA system. At anytime, you can finish the whole document processing including document sending, examination and signing via OA system. So far, OA system has become an important office instrument for all CCB branches in processing daily work.
At present, 90% of the total documents at CCB headquarters was processed via OA, and over 80% documents at branches at province and autonomous region level were processed via this system. This indicates that CCB has realized office automation without paper documents except some secret documents. It was reported, this CCB OA system was initially established in 1998. And after years practices and operation, in last year, CCB strengthened this system extensively and intensively and developed its functions. This system has 5 sub-systems including document system, report system, archives system and information system, covering all parts of document processing.
CCB OA system maximally integrates and uses all information resources to offer various information services in a rapid and convenient manner. Thus, inner integrated management and resources sharing can be available. And this also provides a good environment for CCB to finish   its institutional reshuffle and human resource reform and realize a standard and scientific management. This system meets the need for CCB’s shareholding restructuring programme and lays a solid foundation for CCB to become a modern commercial bank.
When the specialists checked and accepted this system, they praised: CCB OA system had reached the development goal in the need of business growth, had equipped with business-needed functions, and could smoothly process document without paper document; The upgraded information system, secretary system and individual office system was more practical; The added examination and approval function could be better to help all staff process daily work; This system had abundant functions, a friendly interface, easy processing procedures, and steady performance, and the operation speed had been increased substantially.
